Meeting safety and environmental standards
In addition to Type Approval and IVA (Individual Vehicle Approval), which ensure that vehicles meet safety and environmental standards, there is also the N1 Van Enhancement Scheme approval.
The scheme streamlines the IVA process for modifications made to N1 and N2 vehicles that have full ECWVTA for a complete vehicle.
It’s designed for enterprises responsible for the complete enhancement process, such as vehicle dealers and commercial vehicle converters.
It aims to simplify the approval process for these types of modifications, potentially reducing the need for extensive inspections for every vehicle.
The scheme applies to modifications that are considered relatively minor, such as the fitting of external security (e.g., slamlocks, deadlocks), roof systems and towbars.
Instead of a full IVA inspection for each modified vehicle, the scheme allows for an IVA using a mainly administrative process.
