To meet the growing demand for versatile and efficient vehicles, Toyota (GB) recognised the need to offer a selection of popular ready-made conversions tailored to various business needs. By collaborating with some of the leading LCV converters in the UK, including TGS, Toyota aimed to provide customers with high-quality, customised vehicle solutions that are ready to hit the road without delay. By leveraging the extensive Toyota dealer network, these ready-to-go conversions can be delivered directly to customers, simplifying logistics and reducing downtime. Thus, the TradePlus programme was born, officially launched at The Commercial Vehicle Show in 2017, marking a significant step in Toyota’s commitment to support businesses with innovative and practical vehicle solutions.
TGS partnered with Toyota (GB) to develop the Pickup Tippa, a lightweight aluminium tipping body designed specifically to suit the pickup vehicle base. Pairing this conversion with the indestructible Toyota Hilux base vehicle results in a versatile, rugged utility vehicle perfect for grounds maintenance, local councils and facilities management. The vehicles come direct to TGS’ Bristol production facility on a manufacturer destination/drop code, they’re converted and then delivered straight out to the Toyota dealer network, therefore simplifying the logistics, saving time and cost. Peace of mind is also part of this programme, with TGS matching Toyota’s five-year/100,000-mile manufacturer new vehicle warranty on the conversion.

TGS have converted around 300 Toyota Hilux’s with Pickup Tippa bodies since the inception of the programme and these have gone into service with the UK’s leading government administrations, facilities management, and landscaping companies. With payload of just under 1,000kg available, paired with a relatively small, agile vehicle, it’s the perfect storm.
