Isuzu Truck UK were previously purchasing truck bodies for their 3.5T Isuzu Grafter from a European manufacturer, but they ran into multiple issues with heavy body weights, and body corrosion. They were also (and still are) bringing their vehicles into Royal Portbury Dock, just a 20-minute drive from TGS’ Bristol production facility.
It was a no-brainer. TGS could not only provide a superior, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant range of body conversions, but they could also offer a collect and deliver service free-of-charge from their port of entry. The Grafter is designed for tough working environments in the construction, landscaping, building, and arboricultural industries, and TGS currently provides the class-leading Tippa, Dropsida and Utilitruk Tippa body conversions to couple with the sturdy base vehicle. All of these bodies are available with a vast array of options including cages, lighting, towbars, Chapter 8 markings, reversing safety and much more.

The range of bodies TGS provided solved Isuzu’s issues with body weight, and gave them a serious payload advantage over other competitors in the space. The galvanised steel and aluminium components used in the bodies TGS manufactures for Isuzu, meant that corrosion was no longer a constant problem, and their customer satisfaction increased fourfold.
The 3.5T Grafter vehicle has now won the coveted “Best Builder’s Truck” award from Trade Van Driver for 12 years in a row, 8 years of this being in partnership with TGS.
